The movie is better than the book, the book is written in the form of diaries and letters, it bored me senseless, while the movie is one of my favs.

Well, movies are always [obviously] more visual than books, so maybe you could say a bit about that? Or how and why they could have left some stuff out, you know? Maybe think about why that wasn't important to include, and something else was?

No, watching a randomly selected movie won't help you. It has less to do with the original than at least two dozen others.
Do what all the other lazy semi-illiterates do, go read the sparknotes. "I don't manage" must be tenn for 'i'm lazy '

> Can I rely on the movie?
Partially. It'd be very easy to give away that you haven't read it, as there are a lot of differences.
The format is completely different: the novel is told in the form of a series of journal entries and letters between the characters.
The main Victorian-era story is moderately faithful to the book about the living characters, except for the English segments being moved to London. In the book, Dracula comes ashore at Whitby, a small Yorkshire port town.
But the whole deal about Dracula appearing as an enigmatic stranger, falling in love with Mina, going to the movies, etc etc. is invented, as is the backstory about Dracula originally being a noble prince who turned vampire out of grief, as well as the bit where he turns back into nice guy after being spiked.
The Wikipedia article has a good synopsis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dracula ). For more detailed summary and notes, check out out the SparkNotes entry (http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/dracula/ ).
