So I’m looking for this film which is about a girl whose father dies in the war and she ends up in this orphanage, where the head mistress heats her for some reason and she has to move to the attic. I also remember that the girl has these amazing stories about India that she keeps telling about…
At the end of the movie it turn out that the father is alive after all and he comes back and they leave the orphanage and they also adopt one of the girls….

I never saw the remake but I grew up with and loved the original.
