What Is The Movie Projector Quality At The Movies?

If you can buy home projectors that do 720p and 1080I/P for the house what is the quality of the projection when you go see a movie in a movie theater?
Is it 720p or 1080P or better and why.

    The simple answer is:
    1. Movie contrast level of 2000:1;
    2. Original movie image transfer to standard DVDs or standard TV viewing = 480i/p;
    3. Upgraded digitized movie image transfer to HD/Blue-Ray = 1080i/p;
    4. Viewer’s ability to distinguish between 480i/p vs. 1080i/p on DLP projector: somewhat distinguishable from 480 to 720; but not distinguishable from 720 to 1080.
    Conclusion: Until the HD DVD format is finalized and there is a clear winner between Blue-Ray and HD; stick with standard DVDs with largest movie library viewed on a 480i/p DLP projector. There is no guarantee that newer HD/Blue-Ray libraries will be extensive enough to attract buyers who already have a large library of standard DVDs.
    Good luck!

    Most electronic cimema projectors are what’s known as 2k – 1920×1080. But there is some gear around that is 4k capable (roughly 4000×2000) which will obviously give a slightly better picture at 2k. I’m assuming this is what you meant?
