I want to shoot a movie this summer, but I don’t know what is the best camera to get. I don’t have TOO much money, so I’m looking for a good camera (that’s not a regular, crappy camera people use for home movies) that’s relatively inexpensive. Any suggetions?

Go to a store that sells electronics and ask about higher end camcorders. Something with a 720p resolution might be good for you.

Canon’s HV20 is a great camera you can find for just under $1000. It is a prosumer camera that shoots 24p (just like film). If you are gonna get a real serious camera, they start at $2000 and run up to $5500. Even at $5500, you cannot change the lense.
