What Horror Movie Had The Creatures Who Lived Underground That Could Fly?

Reading the synopsis on The Descent, it reminded me of a movie I’d seen where at least one of the creatures could fly. I don’t think it was The Descent, although maybe it was. It seems like it was another movie where some people got trapped underground, sort of like The Descent, but seems like it was a different one. Any ideas?

There was a movie titled “Pitch Black” with Vin Diesel, and took place on a planet where creatures lived underground, and when the planet when behind another one every 22 years, the creatures swarmed out of their caves and ate everything in sight, including themselves.
Overall, it was a pretty good grade-B science fiction story. Vin was great in it!

The only one I can think of is The Time Machine, but it wasn’t horror.
The main character goes to a different time, and monsters come from underground and take people down there and trap them there.
It was based on a book; good movie.

  4. John Holmes Says:

“Pitch Black” with Vin Diesel. It was suppose to be Vin’s breakout movie, but that did not happen until “Fast and the Furious”…
