I read an inspirational newspaper artical of a young boy.
I am considering to turn this into a movie and get a screenplay written.
But how would I first go about securing the rights to make a movie of it?
Basically, I want to make sure that I am the only one who has the right to turn it into a movie. Because, when I start researching more to get material for the screen-play, I don’t want others to steal the idea so to speak.

You would probably have to go through either the newspaper or the person that the story is about for permission
