Sometime ago, I saw Movie Maker import a video from a vid camera and deposit in into the work area in subsections. Example one 5-minute video was imported as 5 small 1-minutes videos.
How can this be set?

Open WMM and go to capture video there is a section for creating clips. this is based on a time stamp created by your camera.
Go to capture video go through the sections until you get to the last screen “capture”
there are 3 box’s at the bottom the first one asks if you want to create clips. Make sure its checked
once you video in captured it will make small clips for you
