Movie: Contraband (2012) – IMDb
“Mark Wahlberg leads the cast of Contraband, an action-thriller about a man trying to stay out of a world he worked hard to leave behind and the family he'll do anything to protect. Set in New Orleans, the film explores the cutthroat underground world of international smuggling – full of desperate criminals and corrupt officials, high-stakes and big payoffs-where loyalty rarely exists and death is one wrong turn away. Chris Farraday (Wahlberg) long ago abandoned his life of crime, but after his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones), botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Chris is forced back into doing what he does best-running contraband-to settle Andy's debt. Chris is a legendary smuggler and quickly assembles a crew with the help of his best friend, Sebastian (Ben Foster), to head to Panama and return with millions in counterfeit bills. Things quickly fall apart and with only hours to reach the cash, Chris must use his rusty skills to successfully navigate a treacherous criminal network of brutal drug lords, cops and hit men before his wife, Kate (Kate Beckinsale), and sons become their target. How do actors prepare before a movie? Are they stuck in their house, reading the script over and over again? Or do they just glance at the scripts, and the director shout outs action and cut until they get it perfect?
I also heard there a famous director that gives the actor and actresses the idea of what scene they are doing at the very last minute. So the actor has to make up the lines of the movie instantly. What is the name of this form of movie?
If you have any other interesting info on movies and the movie making business, can you please mention them?
Thanx

This was a movie that i saw when i was about 8 and i am now 18 so it came out at least in the 90′s, but it is NOT Princess Bride. A lady gets kidnapped on her wedding night or day and is kept in the basement on a mattress by an obsessed man. i know this is little info but i had to try. I’ve been looking for it for years

Avatar the movie was great, however this movie is an anthropological studiers dream. It is full of capitalism, imperialism, paganism, and so much more. I am doing a study and would like to know what you took away from the movie. What is your opinion. Keep it in terms of anthropology and sociology, not just “compared to transformers….” I look forward to seeing your insight!

There is this movie I remember seeing years ago, about a little rich girl who is playing hide and seek at a park and hides in the trunk of these two criminals cars. When they find out how rich she is, they hold her for ransom, but they end up loving her and she ends up loving them too?

It is possibly a late 80s early 90s movie. This kid gets cancer and his two buddies find out and they go on a trip to california. On their way they meet this red headed chick who goes with them. And at the end they watch this video that the kid with cancer left for them to watch after he died. I need to know the name!

If any film & editing students can help, there is a scene in Die Hard 4 (LFODH) where a bunch of presidential movie clips are combined together to make a cohesive statement. Each movie clip had the president saying random 1 to 5 words, and when combined with the other movie clips, it made a statement.
Is this the same as photo montage? If any film student/editor can help give me the correct term, that would be great!

I’m sure this quote can be found multiple places, but I am specifically looking for a movie that had this quote in it. I can literally hear it, but cannot recall the name of the movie that I heard it in. Thanks.
